2004 Dodge Intrepid ?

I am helping a friend who has an 04 intrepid with a broken timing belt. Is this engine a interference or a non interference engine? This has a 4 cyl btw.

04 Intrepid didn't come with a 4 cyl.

The 2.7 has a chain.

The 3.2 and 3.5 are interference engines.

Anyway, if it was an 03 could it be a 4cyl? The guy that owns it isn't sure if its an 03 or 04, and I can't look at it because it's in Vegas. He says it's an Intrepid but I kind of think it's a Stratus. It's hard to understand him since he doesn't speak english very well.

Nope. Still no 4 cyl in the 03 Intrepid. 4 different 3.5L V-6s, but no 4.

Stratus has a 4 banger, but I can't tell if it's an interference motor. It does have two timing belts, one for the cam and one for the balance shaft.

60,000 mile change interval.
