I just waded through 52 search result threads trying to find an answer if there is a way to connect an aftermarket reverse camera to a 2003 factory nav so that it comes on automatically when you put the truck in reverse. Other than a $399 part that allows you to run whatever video you want to the display, I didn't see an on-point answer.

I thought the later model 100's with the factory reverse cameras used the same nav, so I assumed that there should be a harness I could just connect into, but maybe that was too much assuming?

Has anyone done this, or am I doomed to installing a separate 4.3" screen if I want a reverse camera?

Thanks :)

I know for sure that 2004 has a factory back-up camera... Maybe check with a dealer or a toyota parts list and see if you can get the camera by itself?

Actually, I just found this

Thanks Bamachem!

It looks like I'll be going the 4.3" screen mount, from what I could tell from those threads, and their offspring threads, its really not practical on a 2003 to use the indash monitor.
