Hello all. My 100 series steering wheel volume/mode controls quit working last week. The airbag light on the dash seemed to come on about the same time too. Could the problems be connected? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, probably connected. It's likely your spiral spring (electrical connection between rotating steering wheel and fixed steering column) has failed.Hello all. Are you sure the spiral cable assembly is good? At $40 I'm pretty sure it's not OEM, an OEM unit for a LX470 is listed at close to $300 and can be had for around $180 with discounts. There is an '04 EWD available in the sticky section of the forum and you can pull up the horn ccts and spiral cable assy plug and socket pin outs to check continuities.Update: After finally getting the right part yesterday (first part was advertised as fitting but didn't) I installed it in my truck. All steering wheel controls for the stereo have been restored and the airbag light is out but the horn is not working. I have double checked all connections at the wheel but am stumped. The fuse labeled "horn" under the hood is good. Is there another set of fuses for this? Where is the relay and what's the best way to check that? I appreciate any help here....
