Hey all. I am looking into updating my dads 2003 LX mapping system. Its the original softwear. He inquired at the dealership and its $250. Does anyone have any suggestions as how to get this done but not go through the stealership?

You want a Lexus gen2/3 (assuming the disc player is original) navigation disc and will need to choose East or West Coast. The standard, reduced, list price is $169 and they are available from any number of online Lexus parts vendors, searching will probably find Lexus authorized disc for maybe $99. You can also go for aftermarket discs that are available from Nav DVD vendors for much cheaper, ordering Lexus gen2/3 discs. If you can change a DVD in your home sound system then you can change the Nav DVD in your vehicle, the drive is under the passenger seat. Plenty of threads on the topic.
