I have a 2003 LX 470 and want to use the Smart Phone hands free while driving (more cities passing laws prohibiting use of smart phones, Austin, TX since 1/1/15). Called the dealer and for 2003 don't have bluetooth connection via the Nagivation system. Search Lexus website and bluetooth system starts from 2004 (http://www.lexus.com/bluetooth/) What are my options and solutions?

Thanks in advance.

I think the only real option for integration is to find a used Nav unit (head unit and the box under the passenger seat) from a 2004-2007 LX or LC and transplant it into your truck. You will also need the buttons for the steering wheel to replace the blanks on your wheel and the microphone plus the wiring.

Seems doable if you really need Bluetooth.

OR the $50 solution: Bluetooth speakerphone that clips on the sun visor.

Someone on here recommended the imagnet windshield mount so I purchased it and it's great. Very sturdy mount and strong magnet. I then bought a Jawbone bluetooth headset. This combination works very well for me while on the road. $25 for the imagnet and $60 for the Jawbone on Amazon prime.

Motorola makes some nice Bluetooth units for the phone. Doesn't work through the trucks audio system. Rather it is a small rechargeable device with a built in mic and speaker that clips on the visor. I used one for some time before buying my new LX and it worked great. Cost something like $20 from Amazon.

Glad you had good luck with the imagnet. I love mine and have 1 in each car.

Thanks @stonepa for the recommendation - it's excellent. Going to order one for the other cars too.
