Hi everyone,

Looking at buying my first LC. Looking at 2003 112k one owner. All service records since new. Dealer installed trd supercharger. Grey on Grey. Buyer is asking $16k. Is this a good buy or should I keep looking? Not my first choice. First choice would be a 2004-2007 one owner and low miles. but seeing as it has lower miles and one owner it intrigues me.

Hard to say for me. The prices really jump from 2003 and up, especially with low miles. I guess the 5-speed is a nice feature you get with a 2003 vs. 2002. However, I will let you know I got a 2002 with 135K for 10.5K, but I have to replace the muffler to pass safety. Parts on Amazon were $280.

services done? I paid 17+ for my '03 3 years ago with 124k on the clock and no SC. sounds pretty appealing, depending on service records, rust, all the usual stuff.

Last year, I paid 15.5 for my '03 with 155k on it. Perfect service record with documentation. No rust and the cleanest interior/engine bay I've seen with the amount of miles. I say its a good buy.

Agreed. If everything checks out with services and rust, thats a good deal... Even without a supercharger. 1 owner 2003+ go for pretty good money in my recent experience.

That seems like a very fair price. Has the timing belt / water pump been done? I purchased my '03 w/ 88K miles on it almost 2 years ago for $18K. I now have 109K miles on it and I plan to hand it down to my kids in 5 years when they're driving. Then I'll pick up another '03-'05 100 for me (no AHC).

Don't for get to check the mileage since supercharger was installed and find out the service interval. I seem to remember that the have a 90 or 100k service interval before needing a rebuild. Not sure what's entailed with that but I don't think it is insignificant.

Superchargers probably lower the value IMO. They're nice to have and cost a ton to the buyer, but they put more stress on components than without (duh) which conceivably lowers some of the durability of the 100. You would definitely have to run as premium fuel as you can find, and later down the road you will likely have to service or replace the SC which to my knowledge would be extremely difficult to find. The price seems fair, but I would not want any forced induction vehicle that didn't come that way from the factory as designed.
