I have searched the various threads over the years, but cannot seems to find a definitive answer to my questions. I have a 2003 LC and am considering retrofitting a rear elocker from either a 98-99 100 series or 95-97 80 series (or 93-94 for that matter).

What are my options here, and what interchange issues will I run into? I anticipate most will ask why and suggest just using an ARB. I have considered that, but I am trying to determine if I can pick up a factory elocked axle for a good price, is it worth it?

Is the rear axle essentially the same between 93-97 and the 03+?
Aside from the gear ratio, is the rear axle essentially the same between 98-99 and the 03+? (98-99 had 4.3:1)

From a couple of threads, it seems swapping rear 3rd members is pretty straightforward with minimal modification (front is more involved).

What should I get if I find a donor vehicle? At a minimum I am guessing rear axle or 3rd member, switch and wiring. What about the diff lock ECU?

Would love to have lockers on my truck, and like the idea of a factory solution. All 3 of my 80 series had lockers and they were great.
