Anyone had any luck with turning the 3rd row/cargo air side curtain airbags off?

I have a 2004 with rear ac & rear air bags and I want to install a cargo barrier and cargo annex.
I don't want them to interfere with one another for personal safety reasons.

Anyone know if there is a way to disable the rear air bags permanently (not with the RSCA button) without effecting the rest of the system?

A while back I spent some time fault finding a defective SRS computer fault in my '03, dead ECU = $800! I didn't find any user adjustable SRS options like disabling a zone. The SRS ECU polls all of its sensors, squibs etc and if it detects any issue like an open or short cct, it faults and the SRS light flashes or burns solid so you can't disconnect squibs in a zone and have the whole system functional. Side note: my son and his 4 buds managed to roll his truck off a camping trail a week ago today, no injuries, front seat and full curtain airbags deploying, they had to egress via kicking the sun roof out and through the busted tail gate glass. Big fan of curtain airbags now!

Jerry,

The new LabRak cargo shelf is looking pretty awesome. Can it be run right now with no Speski barrier and the rear side airbags in place and functioning?

And, the First Responder discount program is awesome. Thank you for recognizing our military service members and first responders.

The LabRak Cargo Shelf is independent of the Speski barrier. It can work with or without no problem whatsoever. It has the front fence that can be removed if the barrier is used is tandem.

We have 80 series no rear A/C no rear air bags 100 series in stock ready to ship today.

If I can find a way to safely disable the rear air bags and it not affect the rest of the system than I will run the shelf in mine.
