2002 UZJ100 LC Sunroof Repair. Help!!!

Hello and Happy Holidays to fellow CruiserHeads out there. I have a sunroof problem and need any help or advice with repairs. I'm here in Fort Lauderdale and initially with heavy downpours I get some water leaking down the passenger side behind the plastic post panel and onto the passenger side carpet. Then it started leaking through the front map light and since that has happened when you try to open the sunroof you get a slight gear sound but no movement on sunroof. So i went and bought a new switch for the overhead thinking the switch got wet and went bad but switching the switch has no change. I sounds like the slight gear noise comes from the motor i exposed when taking the light and switch cover plate off. I get from the toyota parts dealer here that a new motor is over $700.00
If i need to replace this can i find a repair manuel that will step by step show how to do this and does anyone have a used but working motor. or how to test the motor to see if it is bad. any help , advice would greatly help.

I think my sunroof needs an alignment so I'l be interested in following how this goes for you. As well I have a rattle that happens when the visor is slid into the open position letting sunlight through the closed glass.
