Because the nav screen was built by Satin.....
Due to the a/c controls being integrated into the navigation screen....WHEN (because it will) the nav, amp, radio or all of the above have an issue it is almost impossible to fix in a costly manner and you cannot add an aftermarket system unless you reconfigure the dash from a non-nav to have manual a/c controls (and no they don't plug in- new harnesses need to be created). I have been trying to replace just the radio below my nav screen for a month now but apparently I'd have an easier time finding Bigfoot.
United Radio in New York seems to be the best option for radio repair for our systems but know that when you unplug the unit to send to them you will lose a/c for however long it takes them to mail it back.
Don't get me wrong I still love my 01 LX. I would go look at that low mileage of a truck if one came around my neck of the woods. Good Luck!
