2001 w/ Nav stereo upgrade

I have a 2001 lc with factory nav. I really want to upgrade the system but keep it as economical as possible. I can handle a simple install but I'm not looking to fabricate anything as far as enclosures go. My sub is blown to pieces and it sounds horrendous. How should I approach this?

Take the speaker out including the box and ship it to the Louspeaker guy to repair it. You probably just blew out the foam ring. By far the most economical approach. http://www.theloudspeakerstore.com/

I am considering that as my bottom option. I would prefer to do something that would improve the overall sound of the system as well. The factory stereo isn't impressing me as the rest of the car has...
