2001 short box vs 2005 short box (1 Viewer)

does any one know if the dimension 2001 5ft box similar to 2005 short box. i trying to buy a box cover for my 2001 crew cab and i have a lead into a 2005 short and i want to make sure it will fit. thank

It won't. The 2005 is wider.

The softopper from a 2nd gen tacoma will work on a 1st gen.

2005 and up is 3" wider than 2004 and down.

I bought a softopper from a guy that had it on his 2002 dcab and 2011 dcab. It is now on my 03 dcab. Hardtops wont work but softoppers will for sure. Only difference are the clamps.
