Considering purchasing a 2000 LX470. Never owned, but have always wanted one. This is a bit older than I would probably like to buy, but the miles are so low and the vehicle has been maintained regularly at the dealer. Timing belt and pumps replaced at like 53k miles at owners request (got details on Lexus.com). Anyway, I'm hesitant only because its a 16 year old rig. Purchasing it to make some modifications, use it to head to the mountains in the winter, use it as my daily driver, which isn't much because I work from home. But, 5 kids, would be nice to have a car that I can take the whole crew in. The comments about the 4 speed transmission has me questioning if I should do this one. Thoughts? The price is negotiable. What's the right price for this LX?

For reference I picked up my 03LX470 with 82k on the odometer and one owner with decent dealer records for $16,700. I looked for a few months for that deal. Most of the sub 100k mileage LX470's were in the 18k-23K range. The one your looking at is older but less miles so I would put a price tag on it in the 16K-20k range. Under 16k and your getting a great deal. over 20k and you paying a bit much for the low miles.

If the trans has made it to 74K I would say not to worry about it. I just purchased a 2000 LC with 198,000 miles on it now its at 200300 and the trans seems to be doing fine. It had good records on it and nothing showed the trans being worked on other than regular fluid changes.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yea, it seems like the 2003 is the delineation year because of the 5spd trans. I'd probably pull the trigger no questions asked if it was an '03 low miles for a great price. Ya know. Maybe I'm being too knit picky.

If you pass on the LX please shoot me a PM with the info. I have a buddy looking for a clean low miles 100 right now. I don't think the 2000 year will scare him off.

I purchased my 2000 lx470 for $10,900. Had 94,000 miles, and timing belt replaced. However, I had to sort out a manifold leak, and inner cv boot replacement.

If I had more time I would have traveled to find the exact setup I wanted. This is a rare breed where I live so I jumped at the one I found locally.
