I might be in the market for a road bike in a month or so. I'm liking the Specialized Roubaix but am confused by the models. Any help with this or suggestions on other bikes I should be considering?

What type of riding do you do?

Mod can go ahead and delete this thread - wife's nixed the idea...too dangerous. I used to ride till the third kid was born but then her worry became too much of a stressor. I thought she was over it, but apparently not.

Must be busy where you live, up I can road ride for an entire day and see 50 cars maybe. I was going to suggest Giant TCR is you were looking for equal or better quality and less cost than Specialized. Ahh well, time to find more ways to get out for ya!

Thanks all the same.

Don't want to cause any strife between you and your wife but road biking is a great way to stay fit, a ton of fun, and doesn't have to be dangerous. Unless you're surrounded by a busy interstate or stuck in a busy city there's got to be some back roads you could drive or bike to. As for recommendations, I was just recently in the market for a bike in your price point. The two I ended up focusing in on were the Trek Domane and the Volagi Liscio. Both have a fantastic endurance geometry each with their own road dampening technology. Ultimately I ended up going with the Volagi. I've riden it close to a 1000 miles and am pleased so far.

not sure if you are also interested in mountainbikes but than the brand: Canyon is the best choice. they also run Fox suspension
