2000 2UZ-FE - how much throttle delay do you have?

I've had the rig 6 days now (200 LX470 @ 116k) and I'm just baselining / figuring out the little issues.

I'm curious how the throttle response /should/ be? These are things I don't notice as much until I'm comfortable with a vehicle.

My 2001 Acura TL (auto) revs immediately upon pressing the pedal, and rpms drop immediately upon releasing. No perceptible delay between pushing the pedal and engine RPMs. To be clear, we're out of gear.

The LX revs about ~.2-.3 seconds after pressing the pedal and drops about that much later. Not enough to cause concern by any means, but enough to notice.

It's a bigger engine, has heavier components, etc., and most definitely a truck so I would not be surprised at all if there was more inertia / mass to get things moving / slow down.

I have no conceivable lag in throttle response like on my Mercedes vehicles of the past and the '08 Escalade. Pretty snappy throttle on the LX, just not terribly quick in general.

I recently drove a small nifty rented nissan maxima and I have to say the throttle response was more responsive (and linear) than my land cruiser. May be I have to clean my throttle body and change my sensors. But take in mind the LC is super heavy.

Can you report back if this helps? Mine has a bit of lag too. It almost feels like a cable needs some lubrication.

I'm surprised about the instant throttle response in your 2001 TL. I also went from an Acura TL (1999) to a Land Cruiser (2002) with a Lexus LS400 in between, but unlike you, my TL showed quite a noticeable lag between me flooring the pedal and the car accelerating. It was especially bothersome when I would try to beat other drivers off the line at a red light, knowing I had this disadvantage. I was much younger and reckless then, but I thought all the 2nd generation (99-03) TL's were like that. Guess not! As for the LC, throttle response is surprisingly quick for such a large automobile. So is fuel consumption...D'oh!

The response on mine is surprisingly quick. Make sure your cables are all tightened properly though. I've had to do that twice on mine now.

My '99 is instant response for a large truck. No perceptible lag, but not a ton of torque either.
Its fly by wire throttle, so there are no cables to tighten, right?
