200 Series LC Rims

I'm looking to replace the current steel wheels on my 200 Series GX and am after advice on whether or not 18 x 9 rims will fit/work without guard modifications, I have a 2inch lift fitted (which doesn't mean anything regarding rim width!). There seems to be no advice available on what limits exist on rim sizes. Existing rims are 17 x 8.
