I bought one, gets here Tues. Hopefully my daughter will enjoy it. Shes only 9 months so it might be a minute until she can control herself.

check out a "modified power wheels" search. I don't know if the power wheel above is indeed a "power wheel" or peg perego, etc. Because they have different control mechanisms, etc.

I modded a 12V gator a few years ago for my kids. Ended up with a 24V system with a controller with smooth acceleration and ability to give it anywhere from 6 to 24V of power for top end speed. The kit came with a remote kill switch that would make it stop almost instantly. I used it a couple times during parties with kids driving it (who weren't mine) doing stupid stuff with it. Anyways, the kit and car was awesome and got a couple more years use out of the thing than would have happened without modding. I over built mine, but ended up making it have police lights with a control box, etc. They loved it. Great memories for sure.

EDIT: it's been a while, but I dug through old emails and found what I was looking for. "East coast power up" is who I bought my peg perego controller and wiring harness from for the smooth acceleration and increase of voltage. I don't know that they still sell/ship stuff anymore. They were among the vendors I used for the few bits I had to compile to get this thing to come together. HTH
