For the 20+ rigs, can anyone confirm that normally when the system is active, but it is morning the mirror has a opaque ring on the perimeter of the interior rearview mirror? I always thought it was normally clear, and the dimming feature actively darkened the mirror when it was night.

Do you garage it? How much light is in there? Both my side and rearview will have that ring show up if I am in a dark enough garage. Same with the activation of headlights when in Auto.

parking outside, but with one of those foldable interior windshield sunshade. I just happened to notice the ring on the perimeter this morning and was wondering if the mirror dimming system gave up the proverbial goose.

The shade may have blocked a light sensor. I'll have to check but that might be related.

I thought the system deactivates once i press the button underneath the mirror with the green light built in?

Not sure of any differences in the 2010 and the 2020 in that regard. I've never tried to turn mine off.

I have seen that from time to time, never thought twice about it.

So I had mine in the garage for some minor maintenance. I turned off the Auto-Dimming using the button on the mirror and the light went out. When I started it back up, the Auto-Dimming indicator was lit and I had darkened mirrors (rear and sides). I don't know if there is a customizable setting via your menu or it would require Techstream to turn off.
