I wonder why this is even in the states unless someone imported it, but even that could be problematic!
Initially I though it would be an auction from eBay Australia, curious?

Actually I have seen 1VDs floating around my local craigslist in south florida (craigslist miami is like the old Silk Road dark web), so I'm not sure how (il)legal these imports actually are. If I was by a land border I'd just assume it was all dubious and someone drove it over and pulled the powertrain but I suspect you can get these engines through the customs inspectors at MIA and JAX just based on the number of listings I see. But as I've never imported JDMs I can't be sure.

Or it could just be that since the EPA is non-existent down here and there are no emissions restrictions, regardless of the port of entry these engines end up in places where you can roll to your heart's content.

Well you can play roulette and sneak it in along with your container of parts hoping yours is not screen by CBT =)

Land border?

I think they were working on that bridge from Havana to Ket West during the last administration, but pretty sure any building “plans” in the region have shifted policy :D

Joking aside, I think you summed it up. FL = dubious/shady.

Havana’s an awesome place. Like a time capsule and everyone is incredibly friendly. I always recommend people check it out before the regime falls and the McDonalds and Applebees and Hiltons move in.

Re: the shadiness of FL. Yes there are a lot of people who go crazy from the heat down here (I don’t think the nice folks in Iowa are taking their alligators on beer runs to the 7 Eleven at 2 am) but a lot of the Florida Man phenomenon is actually because of the transparency laws we have, which makes almost all government records, including county and city arrest records, immediately available to anyone without filing FOIA requests. It was actually one of the first of its kind in the country. So probably folks are doing just as crazy things in your state, you just don’t hear about it as much.

But yeah.. Miami is bat**** crazy

Dude.. if you can ‘sneak in’ a container of parts without CBP verifying the contents, I shudder to think of what else could get in..

Not sneak a whole container of part, that will be scary!! :alien: Read my comment carefully, "sneak IT in along with your container of parts". CBP does not go through all the parts in your container usually unless they suspect your shipment, they only screen "xray" and most of the time does not even do that. They do not verify the content most of the time. It is up to what you put in CI and PL. My shipment so far got tagged once for physical inspection and that was my first import few years back, touch wood!!
