Trip Report

We had a great time at the first ever club event at the Sand hollow OHV park. The weather was sunny and warm this morning. We aired down and headed directly for the fault line. My wife questioned how we were going to make it up the first steep hill leading on top of the fault.

The trail was quite technical and gave me an adrenaline rush in a few off camber spots. I thought I might tip in one spot. Its probably the toughest trailI have had the 80 on yet. Lots of rear bumper and undercaraige bumps.

After the fault line, we headed up on top to run a section of the hurricane rim. My 3 year old daughter squeeled with delight as we lurched over each of the obsticles. The scenery was spectacular. The red rocks for which our club is named, were unmatched - especially after the recent rains.

At around noon we stopped for lunch. The sand hollow reserviour provided a scenic backdrop. After lunch we headed back to the staging area. About half way down I saw a nicely restored silver brown 76 Fj40 with a SBC coming up the trail. It belonged to Troy Mickleson. I wondered if he came for the event but he was aparenly unaware there was a landcruiser club in the area so we invited him to join us.

We all had a great time, and are looking forward to Decembers run. check the calendar for updates.

The next event will be Crawl fest 2010 Southwest Crawlfest. Trail ride, clean up project and land use raffle. THere are just a few of us at the moment, but we are committed to getting together once a month for an event. Hopefully as time goes on our numbers will grow. Check the club calendar for dates and times. Come out to an event if you are interestd. THere are no dues. Just show up.

Go to the clubs tab. search by name. then click on the calendar icon after RedRock Cruiser Club. Or click the link below which will take you to the same place. We do a variety of trails from rock crawler to dirt roads so that everyone, no matter how modified or stock their vehicle, can partisipate.
