Hello gents,
Have a question for y’all, is anyone running a diesel pre filter on their 1kzte? If so what do you guys recommend?

Some full-sized 70 Series Landcruisers for global customers (i.e. not the main Japanese, North American or European markets) came with dual fuel filters.

Your vehicle should have a pickup screen in the tank and a combined fuel filter and sedimenter. This combination is, in my experience, perfectly adequate, even in places where fuel quality is questionable, and places with a lot of dust (neither of which are concern in the 'uk').

There is no in-tank pump - the only thing moving the fuel from the tank to the distributive head of the injection pump is a four-bladed vane pump in th front of the injection pump. I would not want to increase the load on that pump unnecessarily.

So i think the question really is, what makes you think you need a secondary fuel filter?

A non common-rail diesel sees no benefit from an aftermarket pre filter.

Paying attention to this thread.

I ran a Racor primary filter and CAT secondary filter on my 617. Had fuel issues depending on which station I fueled up at, but none after upgrading the filtration. Stock filtration on the 1KZ has been just fine thus far, although I carry a spare filter and the tools to change it onboard.
