1KZ-TE white smoke issue

I have a 94 Prado with a 1KZ-TE that is putting out a lot of white smoke at idle that seems to be coolant based on the smell but otherwises runs well. No smoke over 1000 RPM. Any ideas what I should investigate to figure out what's up?
