our 100-series with 1HDFTE is starting late...when the top primary pump is pumped manually it starts...some times stalls in road. then late starts again. done over 160,000kms...serviced well. what can be the issue?? primary pump?? or any electrical issues?

Fuel filter. Change the fuel filter, prime the pump, then remove hose from filter to pump(carefully, under pressure) and then pump fuel into the line so it is full to the top before replacing on the filter. Then pump filter again until very hard.
If this doesn't work, you may find you have a leak around the hand fuel pump, they are known to sometimes suck air.
Also if you are running on the sub tank and the fuel is low and you go up a hill it will suck air from the tank.

Filter was changed recently....same problem was there abt 1 month ago and we drained the fuel and replaced with new diesel (vehicle was rarely driven, so old fuel maybe) and it went ok for about a month now yersterday same problem started again. no leaks near the hand pump, but when we pump it doesnt get hard, doesnt lock. but when we pump it it starts.....we revv for a while and leave throttle it stops again
