Hey guys, I am a fellow cruiser owner. I have owned 6 cruisers. After 911 I joined the Army reserves and since I had the oportunity to bring a 1HDFT (NOT a 1HDFT-E)and a 151 5 speed with transfer case from England. My intentions where to install it in my 93 FZJ80, but between my regular job and the Army deployments I have not had a chance to touch it in 2 years. My free time doesn't look like it is going to free up any time soon so I am thinking about selling it.

The parts are out of a 1996 and it had 82,000 km when it was crashed. The right side motor mount bracket is bent, ac compressor is missing, and the alternator has some damage. Other than that it is all there including the turbo and the shaft feels good. I am not exactly sure what I am going to ask for it but this is like a feeler to see what kind of interest it generates.

Edit: I was just made aware of the rule about having to put a price.

Sorry, did not mean to break the rules. I have $8,000 invested in the purchase and importation (which was a huge pain in the butt). I will sell it for what I have in it $8k. I know several people are getting $10 for these setups.

Buyer pays for shipping. I will shrink wrap and strap to 2 pallets.

I think you need to re-think that price -

$OR sells a *complete* 1/2-cut w/ the same engine for less than that...

Also, please post your adds in just ONE location (you also posted in parts for sale)

Is that true?

They don't have one listed on their site but the HJ61 they have is $8000 and it is a generally less desirable engine.

I'm going to have to jettison the Vortec from my FJ45 I think.

Price really doesn't seem outta line. SOR might have a lower price advertised but I would be curious what their "handling" charges might be? What I'm trying to say... is comparing prices to sor might not be perfect.

I look at JDM 80's selling for 30k here....so converting over a US 80 to diesel for that price might be a good deal.

I think his price is a deal!

This is a 1HD-(F)T... that is the 24 valve non EFI turbo diesel... plus 5 speed and transfer!

I agree with the above regarding the price. I think this a great deal on a kick ass combo. If SOR has it for this price or cheaper then go buy it!!!! Good luck- and don't think a lot of aren't trying to figure out how to pull this one off :)

I have been in touch with this fellow over a few years ago as he has tried to sell the engine combo for some time.

Seems like a stand up guy, even spoke with him on the phone about two years ago.
