I noticed that the US market does not get the 4.5L straight six (1fz-fe), why? this is a common engine choice outside the US and is a great engine. They also have part time 4x4 where i come from as well as optional barn doors. Either way, i made a video to showcase how well the engine pulls.

I also own a 60 series which shows in the first half of the video.

It's expensive to certify engines in the US so we get fewer choices and see a lot of the same motors such as the 4.7 in the Tundra, Sequoia, LC, and 4-Runner. They tend to cert the engines that will be most popular and can be applied to a variety of products.

The american market in general tends to prefer V8 power over range so we get only the big motor and no diesels at all from Toyota.

I hate barn doors, tailgate or bust! The gate is a favorite over here because the domestics don't offer many. I think the barn doors better match jump seats which I don't think are allowed on new vehicles over here either (apparently sitting side saddle in a accident is hazardous to your health).

I have had vehicles with barn door and they are a pain in the backside IMHO. They block the center view and have no rear wipers. They also don't give you a nice built in seat and picnic table like the tailgate does.
