I am prepping my 80 for a new heart and will be pulling the 1FZ-FE/A440. For the time being it is currently installed and you can hear it run.
The truck has 215k miles on it and has been sitting for the past 3 years. Prior to sitting it only smoked very mildly at startup. Now it smokes noticeably. I believe letting it sit let the valve seals dry up and that is where the oil is getting into the cylinders. The valve cover gasket also needs replacement as it has been leaking for a long time. Basically I would consider this is a good core for a rebuild. Engine will be complete with PS pump, alternator, etc. The AC compressor is seized, but I have a replacement that I am selling as well(see below). I would like to get $350 for the engine.
The transmission from the same truck is also available and will be pulled together. Never had a lick of trouble out of this trans. No slipping and shifts great. $300
Brand new Toyota(from CDan) AC Compressor and clutch. The compressor was $400 IIRC. These are still brand new in the boxes. $350.
Everything is located in Derwood, MD about 15 miles from Washington DC. If you want the engine/trans together, I'll do 575 on the pair. If you want it all, I'll do 850.
