Hello all,

The A/C fan on my 1999 UZJ100 has started acting up lately. It first happened a couple of days ago as I was driving in town and I noticed the fan stopped blowing (not good when it is 115 F outside). I simply turned the A/C off and back on again and all was well. Then yesterday the same thing happened again, I cut it off and on again and once again all was well. I noticed that this seemed to happen at lower driving speeds. After searching the forum, I saw mention that if the refrigerant wasn't fully charged that the fan would automatically shut off. This doesn't seem to be the case since the A/C puts out freezing cold air, and always has in the 3 months I have owned it (although I haven't attempted to check it out). Could it be the blower motor resistor?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Blessings,

Sahelian Son

Are you saying the AC blower under the passenger dash blows intermittently?

If it blows cold when it's working, it's probably not significantly low on refrigerant. Try kicking the dash a little near the blower when it's inop, sometimes the resistance is too much for the blower to turn on. I had a similar problem (if I understand your problem as stated) and just replaced blower motor and it was fixed.
