1999 Radio install into 2000 (15 Pin to 20 Pin)

Has anyone installed a 1999 style factory single disk radio into a 2000 or later LC? It appears that a 15 Pin to 20 Pin adapter is needed for the stock amp in the 2000. Is it possible or just not compatible?
