If anyone is considering the built 1999 Land Cruiser on LA area craigslist, be advised that it was just sold for $8000 and the guy is flipping it. He has done nothing to it. He low-balled the previous owner down to $8000 because it had some mechanical issues.

I'm not saying don't buy it, but be educated.

Thats just ridiculous. Looks like a nice rig but, Im sorry but I'm not going to pay 180% the value of the rig because of extras… (even tho I know there are some spendy add ons here) $16.5 is a bit much.

People flip houses, whats wrong with flipping cars? If the previous owner sold it, whats the issue? It's not my rig nor do I know the guy. Why are you trying to stop him from making a buck?

One good low ball deserves another. Offer him $7500 and not a penny more. :D

I missed out on this one too for $8400. The original seller seemed like a very honest guy and spent a bunch of time telling me about the mechanical problems and what it needs (front cvs, axle service, timing belt, etc). The flipper doesn't mention any of this even though he copied and pasted the rest of the ad. Unfortunately for me I was the second caller and he already promised the first that he would hold it for him (I live 20 minutes away and offered full price in cash too!). I have been looking for a really long time for a rig like this that i can afford and was really bummed, still am. Seems like any good deal on Craigslist gets flipped these days, have to be fast with cash, and a little lucky too to get a deal these days. I've basically given up on finding a nice LC for a reasonable price, been looking at 4runners lately.
