I've been doing my own brake jobs since 1960. The last one was last year on the rear brakes of a Buick. Although the e-brake was released, I couldn't get enough slack in the e-brake cable to easily disconnect it from the e-brake actuator arm that is attached to the brake shoe. Removing the actuator from the shoe first was not an option because the axle flange was in the way.
And I had a helluva time trying to reconnect it after installing the new shoes.
Now I have to do my Tacoma and the setup is the same. Is there an easy way to disconnect and especially to reconnect the e-brake cable from its actuator or go gain enough slack to make it easy???
