Recently went with a family member who works at a dealer and they manage all the used cars, can drive whatever they want and helped me find this beauty. It has just a few miles on it, 285k.
There's literally 0% rust, it was always indoors first in AZ, driven to NM and it's never seen snow until I bought it in CO, and the 2nd owner. First owner was no lead-foot, pedals look slightly worn but not new, as with leather interior, no holes/scrapes/etc.
Very happy with my purchase, but want a few mods suggestions and can do most maintenance myself.
Brakes started queaking, took off the wheel, cleaned it, new pads all around, fixed problem.
Hit the worlds biggest pothole and blew the OEM springs with 285k miles on the front, swapped with new KYB shocks. It used to ride like a huge sponge now it's more truck like and love it. Old springs slightly rusted on so I just cut them off and saved time.
When driving, the driving lights suck horribly. The throw is about 50' and the brights are either the dimmest brights or a pile of $#!+.
Anyone have LED running/driving lights? Links?
Would a light bar for camping be easy or throw lights on the roof?
Have a 200W solar panel and have a roof rack, put it up and buy a 2nd battery?
I won't be going off road much just mudding, fishing, dirt roads, and the highway to get there.
Gas mpg sucks on these LC, but I got it for the utility not the mpg. Leaving that to the 1L fuel sippers.
Towing:
Because of age, I doubt it'll pull all 6500 lbs, but I have a 6x10x6H cargo with camping gear, loaded it doesn't go over 2k lbs, and would be a weekend trip of ~200 miles. Do I need a tranny cooler for this towing at altitude?
