hey everyone,
Out of the blue about 3 days ago I felt a strange vibration in my landcruiser. I though perhaps the road was causing it but over the last few days i now know it is not the road.
I had the front diff replaced with a new 2001 4 spline, and in the very beginning there was a slight whine. The whine went away and all was fine after a month or so. But now this vibration makes me curious if something was not set properly. The diff was a sealed unit, but I heard something about setting tension?
Anyways, I feel it about 60 MPH and I think it goes away if I get to about 80MPH.
Guess slight chance its a wheel weight. hopeful of that. but remembering on a road trip we took to Hollywood in March (about a month before the diff was replaced) 4 times there was a thud when shifting up on the highway. The thud I have not felt since... Just not sure if I may have a prob with the new diff, or maybe something like the rear ujoint is going now?? not sure how to check.

Sounds exactly like tire balance is off.

Easy fix!

Tranny thud has nothing to do with it.
