SOLD-Low mile 1998 Cruiser for your consideration-NorCal

***EDIT: VEHICLE HAS BEEN SOLD***

It's a 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser 4.7 V8, 105+K miles. Imperial Jade Mica (green) exterior, gray leather interior, & heated front seats. Has 3rd row seating, running boards, roof rack, factory locking differential, Sirius Satellite Radio, and tow package, (with a Tekonsha P3 elec. brake controller). I put the wind deflector back on, but have lost two of the screws that hold it to the legs. Since buying it in Dec. 2007 with 72K miles, I replaced the factory shock absorbers with Bilsteins new DieHard Platinum battery and installed 295/75R16 Nitto Terra Grappler AT tires, one of which is a never used spare. It comes with a Carmax "MaxCare" extended service plan that I purchased which is transferrable and still good until 12-7-2010, or 108,283 miles. MaxCare Extended Service Plans from carmax.com I've always used Mobil 1 Synthetic from our oil guns at the shop, and Genuine Toyota oil filters with every oil change.

After I purchased it, I went through it and found all the warranty items Carmax missed on their inspection process. Utilizing the extended warranty, I had the following items replaced immediately after purchase: both front Toyota factory axles (the c/v's were leaking), factory toyota lower control arm, (the lower ball joint was leaking) factory Toyota sunroof glass, (the seal was leaking), hood and liftgate struts, power antenna motor, l/f door lock actuator, right tailgate strap, and the cigarette lighter. The only other repair I had warrantied was at Folsom Lake Toyota was the fuel tank sending unit as I noticed when the tank was filled the needle didn't always go to the FULL mark. One time the 40A fuse for all window motors, door locks, and power seats blew, but has been fine since replacing the fuse.

Known issues (nothing huge, but I want to disclose all):

The paint has some scratches as we have taken it on some fire roads, and the paint is starting to peel off the front bumper as the company Carmax used to touch it up didn't prep it right before they sold it to me. Also there is some areas where it looks like the paint has been resprayed, but the carfax is clean. Sometimes when the passenger front door is opened the door lock actuates and makes a "clicking" sound, there is a intermittent slight "honk" noise from the A/C when the compressor cycles "on" behind the glovebox, but it hasn't affected the performance any, I saw bulletin that there is a noise caused by an internal vibration in the expansion valve and there is some updated a/c expansion valve or something to prevent the noise, but have never taken it in for warranty repairs.

I looked up KBB for "Good" condition private party as it is admittedly not "Excellent", and it is $12750.00, and "Good" is $12125.00. I'm going to try list it on Craigslist for $12,000. It's going to need to have the timing belt replaced at some point as it is suggested at 90K. I called and got a quote for $700 from Toyota for this repair, so in the event there is a "Mudder" interested in the vehicle, I'd like to offer it for $11,500 obo. Please feel free to run the VIN JT3HT05J5W0014369 if you like.

I will be out of town (going to Denver) Nov. 18-20 but will have access to the internet to answer questions by PM or...offroadkid at gmail.com

We are located in EL Dorado Hills, (East of Sacramento off Hwy 50).

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Brett! It looks like it may have found a new home in Portland, which is funny because that's where the guy who bought my last Cruiser came from!!
