i have a 1998 3.4l 4runner that has no power.....

a guy that works for me started the thing to let it run and forget he left it on.....:crybaby:

now the car has zero power....

i turn the key and nothing happens...no clicking nothing...

i replaced the efi 10amp fuse because it was blown.... im obviously thinking its somthing like a inline fuse.... because i have no power whatsoever.....

can anyone point me in the right direction?? thanks

Ran it out of gas, fuel pump and ignition on till the battery was drained?

May have seized the fuel pump by running it dry. Which caused the fuse to pop.

correct

battery is not dead..... tested and holds 12.8volts.... after being recharged

the car has no power when the ignition is engaged.... i have power to the fuse box under the hood.... i know how to use a multimeter..

when i say "no power" i mean no electrical power at all.....as if the car had no battery in it.....thats why im wondering is there a inline fusable link i may be missing or somthing along those lines???

Have you inspected the AM1 and AM2 fusible links?
Picture below..........

How far from the battery is your 12 volts getting?
29 and 30.JPG

the links seem intact..... i havent pulled them out yet..but physically through the clear cover they look fine.... should i check them with the meter???

im getting 12.6v to the interior fuse block

thanks for any information again guys

At first i'm thinking is the vehicle in park? or try neutral and then

When you say zero power as if the battery is out....So if you get in and rotate the key to the accessory position do you get any dash lights coming on even? Interior light won't even come on when you open the door or put the dome light to "on" position?

correct.... zero power.... nothing when the key is engaged.....

so the interior light won't even come on hey... sadly for lack of knowing any details I would be digging into the online manuals at the top of the 95+ section and see if you can find an electrical schematic and start checking t see where it is interupted.
sorry as that doesn't help a bunch

Did you ever get this figured out? Just curious.

not yet.. i havent dived into it much...im thinking i burned out the relay o the starter though... this week i plan on working on it
