Hi all
Thought I'd add a little extra info as to the reliability of these 100s.
My in-laws bought it new in 1998 and then gifted it to my wife and I with 150,000miles on the odo because they had a family friend gift them a 100series LX with 35k miles.
With hand me down LandCruisers, everyone wins!
At 200k I did timing belt / water pump.
The parts I removed look nearly new.
I casually asked my pop in law if he had the same job done at the dealership at 100k... He looked at me and said "timing what?"...
So this was the original belt & pump and they had just completed 200k without a hitch.
Pretty good!
At 225k one of the coil packs randomly failed on me.
I was able to drive 50miles home on basically 7cylinders.
Ordered the $100 part, swapped the part, no problems since.
At 250k, the original ABS pump unit gave out just as I started the car to drive home from work.
I ordered a new unit from cruiserparts.net - even with overnight shipping it was still way cheaper than getting the part from the dealer. $750 for a new unit
Last week at 276k, the original alternator's voltage regulator gave up the ghost. $310 for a reman unit.
Today one of the black plastic coolant to heater core tee fittings between the block and firewall started leaking. $13 new
I have a slight tear in the driver side outer CV boot that I also need to address.
Other than all that, it's been great - no complaints.
Everything inside & outside works.
Looking forward to 300k and beyond.
