Selling the Subaru. Funny, because we just bought it, tinted the windows, put a whole Yakima system on top, tuned it up, etc. However, my grandmother is giving me her 1986 Honda Accord which has a whopping 54,000 miles on it. The specs for the Subie are as follows:
2.2 liter 4cyl
auto, power mirrors, windows, locks, tint, fresh fuel filter, wires, etc. Tires are virtually new
Runs like a champ, 101k

5500/obo

Pics to come soon
I will deliver within reason for gas and a plane ticket home.

What better way to save those miles on your cruiser commuting to/from work?
Runs about 27/28mpg

Actually, I'm looking for one :D Do you know if the timing belt was done? Are you going to post pics? Clean title? Yakima included? Color? Interior?

The timing belt was done. I'm saying that because I went 215K miles in a Subaru and the belt WILL fail if the change interval is stretched. Some people have been lucky, but generally the belt will go before 65k miles and is recommended for change at every 55k interval. After one failure at 4:00 am on a windy mountain road in pitch black raining conditions I never went longer than 50K again. :)

It's not a big deal at $250. by the dealers or DIY and the belt is some $60.

I don't know about the timing belt, but it has been well maintained. I bought it from a very reputable dealership which I bought my last 3 Subarus from, and my parents have bought 2. They don't sell crap. Clean title. Yakima crossbars and towers included.

No real rust, at least not on any of the body-- it is a Utah car though-so the underside probably has some. Aplogies for not responding sooner- as I had no interest initially, I thought it was dead. Small dent near the PS rear door. Doesn't break the paint.

Recommended belt interval is 105K on this motor. Dunno about the earlier ones.

Moody, also curious about rust- any present?

Ah, I have a '98 Legacy Outback Limited that doesn't look like moody's and has a 2.5 litre engine. I've been assuming 60k for the belt change but the car has just 41,000 on it right now so it hasn't been an issue yet. Guess I'll have to check.

Would you mind taking a quick look at the underside? I'm not real familar w/ how fast/extensive the rust might be.
Rust-yes. Cancerous, flaky, frame/body eating rust, no.

Moody I'm out. The wifey wants me to keep looking for a slightly newer Outback. Which is a bummer, because a friend with a Subie shop says these are GREAT motors, near bulletproof. And 97 was the last year for it.

Bump for a reasonably priced, clean looking wagon.

Thanks Cube Dweller-
It now has 102k, as I drive it every day...

Price lowered to 5400/obo
