Just found this on craigslist and I think it is worth a look for anyone looking for a 40th anv LC.

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser

The owner sent me a PDF file with estimated repair costs which look like routine mantance items to me.

It has 164K miles on her.

Seller states that it needs repairs, and can't afford the gas, and needs to sell it quick. I worry about cars people can't afford anymore... what (and how long) have they been neglecting? its pushing 170k, not a good time to stop taking care of it IMO. It was also sold at auction after the 1st owner... did it get repossessed or donated? Then you have the recent accident, and then 8 mos. later it was taken to the dealer in Nov. to "check its driveability" but no service performed (because he couldn't afford it?)...
That would be a good argument for $3000.

This one was posted awhile back and had a few negatives from people that went and inspected it. I can't remember what they were, but they seemed serious enough for me to remember the picture.

I think questionable rear body damage/repair and something about the lockers... It was also a little more expensive last time it was listed.

Seller says it was given to him by his parents.
Worth a look and a lower offer if it just need maintance baselining and minor repairs.

I am 100 mile south or I would look at it for someone.

Not sure if he checks e-mail very often. I asked him for the list of needed repairs several days ago and never heard back:confused:
If anyone has it could you send it to bpelatt@cox.net Thanks!

Thanks...I wonder what it went for?
