My back up lights are not working and I have checked the bulbs inside the tail lights, and they are fine! I replaced them anywayz and they are still not working! . I then checked the fuse by the instrument panel, and the fuse is fine.   ... I than got my test light and tried to see if there is any current in the fuse box which there was except for the fuse were the tail lights fuse goes?   ... What could be the problem. As far as I know, that is the only fuse for the tail lights. Any one ever have this problem? Please help. It is useless to put on my IPF back up light without my back up lights not working.

Does the light on the dash light up (the R that is) ?
My 92's work when they want to and when there not the dash light out also .
I know mine is a problem with the PRND21 switch on the trans is dirty and one day I will take it apart and clean it up ,
HTH some

you know what, to tell you the truth, I don't think any of the indicator lights are working? ... can this be a related problem? I think it might be that switch in the tranny your talkin about. Here's another , if your counting.

The NSS is on the transmission.

It's suspose to keep you from starting your car in anything other than park and Neutral, so it reads your shifter position as well.

In my case the 5 or 6 square dash lights wouldn't illuminate nor would my back-up lights.

The NSS is something like $150.

thanks for the info. I was loloking at my dad's FSM for his 97 cruiser and have spotted that damn switch, hopefully it is in the same location on my 93 cruiser(I know they are different trannies, I will see)... Thanks.

Neutral Safety Switch for my 1993 landcruiser ----I was wondering if anyone can tell me where this switch is located exactly? I know it is located in the tranny, but there is like 2 or 3 switchs/sensors (whatever they are  ) plugged to the tranny? Anyone have a pic of how this switch looks like? PLease any help, thanks...
