Hiya I'm busy doing up my hilux and some help with understanding the vin tag would be great I was wondering what the "LNTD" stamped on the vin tag means im doing a turbo conversion and from what I understand it means Ln Turbo diesel could be wrong as the 2.8s never came out turbocharged. And also are you able to tell diff ratios from the tag?

Not sure what LNTD means but the 3L never had a turbo from the factory.

Is there another tag under the hood? I have one with stamped letters like in your picture and another that has more info on it.

G52 is the transmission code, there should be a 4 digit axle code somewhere; for example G285 for 8” ring gear, 4.30 ratio, 4 pinion LSD, which is the only combo I’ve seen in the LN106. Lift one wheel and spin it to find out for yourself.

I think this one was assembled in New Zealand. I assume ch-ch isn't Japan. Christchurch? Maybe LNTD is something like the DLX or SR5.

Mine was a g282 with both front and rear 4.30 open 2 pinion. Lift the wheels and spin it.

I think some 2.8's 3l came from the dealers with an alpine turbo fitted by Toyota. Not sure if it was at the factory.
