Hi All,
With my new cruiser finally on the way I'm starting to sort through and liquidate some of the parts I salvaged from the fire that burned my 1992 HDJ81. I've included a bunch of photos so you know what you might be going in to. Everything is located in The Dalles, OR. Happy to ship the smaller items, not to enthusiastic to try to figure out how to ship an axle across the country. Chassis and all has 326k km's on it.
Most of the drivetrain seems alright from the transmission back and the axles as well. It was a fully hydro a442f car; and has k294 locking axles. The fluid coming out of everything was very clean, and did not seem or smell burned. As far as the interior goes, much of the stuff on the firewall itself got very hot and melted including some of the right side of the dash, but from the dash back things are wet and dirty but in fine to use condition unless corroded from fire retardant. The smoke damaged the rear interior, but it stayed mostly dry and salvagable. I am keeping some of the parts for myself.
I don't really know what to ask as far as prices go so please feel free to make an offer. I really hate to throw away the frame even, as it is remarkably rust free and in good condition all around minus being cut at the rear for a 4x4labs rear bumper. Off the top of my head here are some of the parts available, but don't hesitate to ask if you need something more specific.
-k294 Locking axles; good working lockers, RCV chromo birfs, full knuckle rebuild 25k km's ago. PENDING
-HF2A transfer case
-center console fridge, electronics and all piping minus the front cross over pipe and pig tails. I think you'd also need the magnetic valve for autonomous operation
-front and rear driveshafts
-very clean fuel tank w/ sending unit ect that all worked excellent SOLD
-fuel filler neck and tubes, rust free SOLD
-all 4 doors and the guts (lock module, motors, ect); RF has some heat damage; one mirror totally melted and the other got soft and deformed a bit
-1HDT bottom end for core or rebuild. Got water in it from the fire department that I didn't address or know about quickly enough. Most accessories and the IP melted; but oil pan or other metal parts likely good. Motor was running great the day before on our trip back from the beach, got 22mpg my best ever on that trip SOLD
-1HDT head for core. Again, rusty, like the bottom end from fire department water. I wouldn't trust the cam but it's likely buildable. SOLD
-A442F Full Hydro Trans w/ flex, balance and torque converter; fluid clean when pulled out but wiring forward melted out and would need replaced. Worked awesome the day before the fire SOLD
-RHD steering box, maybe good for a core, but pretty burned. Has the low pressure solenoid (melted but replaceable) for easier around town driving and better highway manners
-CT26 Turbo for Core; doesn't seem to be shaft play or anything like that, but it did get hot and it is dirty.
-Factory exhuast manifold, looks to be clear of cracks, tapped for EGT
-Rear Flares - SOLD
-Upper and lower clamshell of hatch, rust free. Lower hatch has a storage system built in PENDING
-x3 Factory window visors; RF melted other three good and uncracked but some bush pinstriping. SOLD
Going to switch up my springs, so have some dobinsons coils. 3 are good, the LF was burned and the paint came off, but otherwise seems OK as the 80 still sat well after the fire.
Rears are 3" flexi coils; dobinsons # c59-612v (Dobinsons Flexi Coil Springs for Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series (C59-613V 3 - https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/products/dobinsons-flexi-coil-springs-for-toyota-land-cruiser-80-series-c59-613v-3-rear)
Fronts are 3.5" Variable Tapers #c97-144v (Dobinsons VT series Dual Rate Coil Springs for Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series 1990-1997 (3.5 - https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/products/dobinsons-variable-rate-tapered-coil-springs-for-toyota-land-cruiser-80-series-1990-1997-3-front-heavy)
These sat level on my 80 with the front bumper, winch, sliders, labs rear bumper and spare tire ect.
... feel free to ask about anything else. Just would hate to scrap something someone needs stateside.
