Hi guys,
I have a 1991 1PZ 75 landcruiser pickup.
I would like to fit mag wheels on it. I have been having a problem with the 16" rims. th problem is when I fit the wheel the tie rod end hits the inner wheel.
If I fit a 15" mag wheel its fine.
Though I would prefer fitting 16" mags.
How do I do this?
What size do I take into consideration in terms of 16x8J etc etc im not too sure of that size measurements.
Thanks

Its not the diameter or necassarly width of the rim thats causing the problem it is the backspacing. Also can be measured as offset. You either need 16" rims with numerically less backspacing or add wheel spacers to use the ones you have. I have run 15x8 w/ 3.5" backspacing and 16x8 w/ 3.75" backspacing and 12.5" rubber with no issues

Hi there,
Thanks for that.
Since I have a set of 16"wheels I would take the option of wheel spacers.
Are fitting wheel spacers safe?
Also what kind of spacers would you advise, size and where I could buy them eBay amazon etc.
Do I need to fit spacers on the back wheels aswell to make the wheels stick out uniformly?
Thanks

I've been running this style 1" billet aluminum spacer front and rear for over 100,000km on and off road with 35" tires and have never had an issue. Key is to use a blue locktite thread lock when installing them. Double check your torque after a few hundred kms.

Do a search on the forum. Spacers have been discussed a lot. Their are quite a few manufactures and prices vary but you can easily find them online.

When choosing spacer size dont forget to consider if your tires stick are going to stick out past the fenders. Heres mine currently sitting on 35x12.5R15 with 3.5" backspacing and 1" spacers. Throws a lot of sh#t up!! Not to mention some places will ticket you for it

Hey Malahki,
Thanks for the info and pictures.
Il get the 1" spacers don't want the tyres to stick too much. Will go for narrower 16" tyre.
Thanks for the help much appreciated
