Ive asked this before, but didnt really get a definitive answer....

What vehicles do they cross to? if any.

Or what is available domestically?

Mine have two pistons seized and I rather get new and slap em on than rebuild. Call me lazy I got enough to worry about. :)

Also looking for a drilled/slotted rotor available for the front.

cheers

When I rebuilt my front calipers I think I used parts for a 93 V6 4Runner, and everything was perfect. Same with the pads. I recommend PBR Semi-metallic pads (Lordco should be able to get them). I got the premium rotors from NAPA, and have been very happy. I would really not bother with slotted or cross drilled rotors. They are just more likely to crack and fill up with mud.

Properly setup brakes on the LJ78 are really really good. I have no problem stopping 8000lbs+ (truck and trailer) even with the electric trailer brakes turned off. Not towing I can lock up the wheels.

Also, if your front calipers have issues, then guaranteed your back ones will too. My back ones were totally siezed. I think the back calipers cross to 80 series Landcruiser ones, I forget what years though.

Make sure the brake bias valve thing that hooks to the rear axle is setup right (or just remove it and use a manual adjustable one). Depending on how my truck sits, the bias changes because of that valve. The braking is much better when I have a lot of weight in it, as the back brakes receive more braking ability. Sort of pisses me off, and I've been meaning to remove the bias thing and replace it with a manual one so i can just set it once and for all.

I kept all the bills from my parts, so if you need any confirmation, let me know. I did all my rotors, pads and rebuilt my calipers, so I had to know all the details of what the North American cross parts were. I forget a lot of it now, but could figure it out from the bills quick enough.

Thanks Gents.

I just did the rear brakes last year, brand new calipers(80 series) rotors(lordco premium) and metallic pads. Left the ebrake alone because it was fine and I rarely use it anyhow.

I think my calipers have been going bad since I first lifted the rig couple years back. It always pulled to the right when coming to a stop at the lights. It would put force on the wheel in that direction, even after recentering the axle and whatnot got more noticeable as time went on.
When I put the truck into the shop for the suspension work, I discovered one caliper was completely seized on the left side....

I made an extension for my LSPV, Ill have to make another for the extra height, or like you say, get a adjustable one from the parts store and be done with.

cheers guys.
