I have a 91 HDJ80 for sale in Southern Ontario. The truck runs good (a little smoke on idle) and has around 290,000kms. Needs a bunch of little things done to it, and I do not have the time (or the desire) to repair it....
The good....
4.2L 6 cylinder turbo diesel
rebuilt Injection pump (by Fred Holmes about 40,000kms ago)
rebuilt injectors (same time)
new Alternator (not a rebuild)
factory electric winch
bull bar
power windows/sunroof
cruise control (when it wants to work!!)
4wd works perfectly
The bad......
It's an automatic
The brakes need a complete rebuld
thr tranny "clunks" when upshifting under light load or from reverse to drive (it's done this for 100,000kms and never gotten worse though)
the a/c compressor seized up
the rear heat works but the front heat does not (fan works fine)
interior is kinda poo
tires are kinda poo
Paint is faded
small amounts of rust on the seams of the bottom passenger doors
very small amount of rust around the rear side window
The truck uses less than 1/2 liter of oil on 5000kms. I don't know if the BEBs have been done. The kickdown linkage needs adjusting. She consistently gets better than 10L/100kms if you keep her under 110km/h.
I'm sure I've missed a bunch off stuff, but I think the price is decent at $4000. Truck owes me nothing, but need to clear up alot of funds to purchase an HJ61 in Japan...Any Q's just ask...thanks...Kev.
