Alright all - Got started on the water pump replacement tonight.

Took about 2 hours to get the pump off (not a mechanic :))

Here are a couple of pics, lots of oil from about midway down the front and passenger side front of the motor, I will worry about that later, getting the water pump done and then I will get the oil cleaned up.

Going to bed. More later. (I just realized that I suck and these types of threads).

Are you changing out anything else while you're in there? Probably a good time to change radiator hoses and/or do a flush. It's probably too late now, but if you could use any assistance with finishing up, post up or give me a shout.

hoses look pretty good, outside nasty, inside no cracks. It was leaking from the front bearing pretty bad.

Just got the old gasket off. Joe, Eric is supposed to come back over, but you are welcome to come. just call my mobile 919.656.4682 for directions if you decide to ride over. Probably be another 2-3 hours from my current pace.

Alright - well finished up around 2:00 with Eric's help. So far no leaks. Replaced one section of hose that goes to the oil cooler (6-8" piece of 5/8") as it was swollen. The rest looked good. The gasket was a pain as well as getting some of the hoses, specifically the large one that attaches to the passenger side. And then with all the belts on and tight, the fan nuts were a pain, but a magnet and 2 fingers took care of that.

Added some antifreeze 50/50 and she fired right up. We will see how the next few days go, but I am hopeful.

Here are the last couple of pics. Now, back to the winch rebuild :bounce:

Everything as clean as I am going to get it.

Thats all folks. Went over to Eric's and we finished getting the angle cuts on the other pair of sliders for Brandon (hmm, where was Brandon :)), and got some of the support pieces finished up as well.

How did you remove that lower left pulley bracket? The one you have sitting on your freezer in the pic with the fan. I have removed the two bolts on the water pump side but I cant see the other end of it. I removed two bolts from that area and nothing. Just by touch it seems it goes underneath some other bracket.

Nevermind. The bolt for it was underneath the bracket for that bottom tensioner. Remembered I had an endoscope for my cell phone. Handy to look at hard to reach spots.
