I have for sale a 1990 Suburban 2500 fully built for rockcrawling, but it would be great for mud, trails, and do decent as a daily driver. I bought it in Maryland and drove it 1000 miles south to Alabama with no issues (towed with my DD when I moved here). Approximately 230k on body, 40k on drivetrain.
The good:
Built fuel injected 454 with HDMI connected programmer, mild cam for torque. Even with 4:56s it still chirps the 40's
Electric fan keeps it nice and cool, never had any heat issues.
Turbo 400
Black Box 241-205 doubler with triple sticks ( NP205 with an NP241 reduction box) that allows you to select between 2:1, 2.7:1, and 5.4:1 low ranges. This thing is ridiculous in double low range, it really crawls.
Kingpin Dana 60 front axle with 4:56 gears and ARB air locker, as well as disc brake conversion
Full Float corporate 14 bolt rear axle with 4:56 gears and a Detroit locker
New 40 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers on 17 inch H2 wheels
Hydro assist and high steer, absolutely no death wobble, tracks straight and true with two fingers on the wheel
Warn selectable locking hubs
Full internal roll cage tied to the frame
Nice cloth interior
Heat works great
All seats have seat belts and it's surprisingly comfortable
Three point track bar to prevent rear axle wrap
On board air
Radio/CD player works
Power windows all work
Mileage is decent for a truck with a big block on 40s, it gets 2-3 MPG better than my previous carbureted 454
40 gallon gas tank
Rock sliders
Custom front bumper with Warn 12000 pound winch, works great
Custom rear bumper with 2 inch receiver and rear spare tire carrier
All the wiring was done by the previous owner and is clean and flawless, no hack jobs
The bad:
Some rust on the body (solid frame) and rock rash, one of the rear windows is covered by sheetmetal (I have the glass for it, just never got around to replacing it)
No AC. It had it originally and could probably be added, it just wasn't a priority for me
Not really bad, but for transparency: it has a rebuilt title (not salvage) from Virginia. Didn't cause me any problems when I had to title it.
Overall this truck is extremely capable and reliable. It's a total beast, has tons of power, and does great on and off the road. If you want something unique with countless hours of labor and 10s of thousands in parts, this is the truck for you. I've owned it a little over a year and had no issues with it - only selling because I have another kid on the way and I'm downsizing my toys.
Please no lowballers, I'm not desperate and I know how much this thing is worth.
