46410-60500 should work. It fits the LJ77 and LJ79 ,I couldn't see a 1990 LJ78. But they are the same length.

Thank you

LJ78 has disk brake rear end while LJ77 and LJ79 have drum brake rear end. So the ends of the cables might be different....? Make sure you know for sure before dropping money.

For that matter, are you sure it's the cable that is the problem? The miniature e-brake drum in the LJ78 rear disk brake has a tendency of getting frozen if water gets in there. Has happened to me a few times after a day of wheeling through big puddles or across rivers that are deeper than the axle housing.

So if there is a drum brake inside I'm presuming there will be an adjustment for the shoes, I guess I better rip the drum off and give everythi g a good once over before I buy anything.

The e brakes on the Lj78 are prone to not staying in good adjustment.
Cable rarely gives trouble.
Yes they have adjusters... but would pay to back them off and remove drum / disc and give it a good clean. reassemble and adjust.
They are a similar setup to the 80 series.... so google is your friend
