Guys,

Thought that everyone in the SF Bay Area should have a heads up on this CL add.

1990 Toyota Landcruiser FJ62

Called the guy about this truck, and he told me that it was in great shape with nothing wrong with it. He was working and in a hurry, so I made an appointment to see the truck.

First thing I noticed when I got there was major pin striping of the paint. I had been told that the paint was in really good condition. It was far from it, and upon closer inspection, the vehicle had been poorly repainted.

I then popped the hood and found that the entire front clip had been replaced. I asked about accident history, and the guy dodges the question. I asked point blank about the title, and he admits that it has a salvaged title.

At this point, I'm pissed and told the guy that that he was dishonest in his add and our phone conversation, and he has just wasted 4 hours of my time.:bang: He told me that he had just changed the add to indicate the salvaged title. He has not.

He claims only 119K on the clock, but the truck was really rough.

He proceeds to tell me that these things routinely fetch 15K+ and that $6,500 is a great deal even with a salvaged title. I told him he'd be hard pressed to get 2K, and left.

I posted an add in CL alongside his, but it was removed. Just thought that I'd give everyone here a heads up on this truck.

I saw your reply to this guys ad on CL last night! The guy hasn't made any changes to his ad, Thanks for the heads-up! Where'd you drive from? San Luis Obispo?

No, from Napa. The traffic sucked yesterday, and it ended up taking almost 2 hours to get there!

Yeah, but it's been flagged for removal. How does that work? I flagged his post, and had several other people do it also, but his post is still there?

The "Slo" is slow for my old 60 that had dual cases:bounce:

Whats up with the roof rack and rear bumper? They both look like he stole them off a disco

The roof rack looked really crappy. Homemade I think.

The rear bumper was a Warn unit that was booty fabbed to the rear frame rails. It stuck out about a foot.

I was looking to but a clean truck and return to stock condition, but this was not it!
