My buddies 89 FJ62 is having transmission issues. Any recommended transmission shops in the Winston area? Also, any FJ62 (A440F) transmissions laying around anywhere?

Assuming it's overheating? 60s with AT issues are depressing. Has he spent hours reading over all the threads in the 60 section yet? Fluid flush, drop pan/filter screen cleaning, and the battle-tested "rodney party trick" are some first orders of business.

Try L&R Transmission or Cottman. Both have been around a while.
It would be cheaper to do a H55 swap.
