I am selling my 1989 F62! I bought it with the hopes of doing a diesel motor conversion some day, but the reality is it won't happen. I currently use the Cruiser as my daily driver. I will be on my motorcycle once the F62 sells. I need the money to finish a project I currently have going, and will replace the F62 as my daily driver.
I bought the F62 in 11/07 with 207,000 miles on it from the second owner. The F62 has not been in an accident, has zero rust cancer, and currently has 238,000 miles. It passed smog last year with flying colors, and runs great, and gets around 14 mpg overall. The F62 is stock except for the rims and tires.
I have done some work on it since I bought it. as follows:
Transmission and Transfer case rebuilt
New rear drums and brakes
new front disc, wheel lugs, seals, and brake pads
New Stainless Steel muffler
New Michelin Tires LTX A/T 2 31 x 10.5R x 15
New Thermostat housing and thermostat
New coolant hoses
Things that don't work or worn:
Power antennae
Front and Rear washer
Power locks
cruise control
Has original AM/FM cassette stereo- tuner knob broken radio works
Dash is cracked in several places, but covered with a dash mat
Driver seat has a tear
Carpet has stains and is well worn, but functional
A/C is all there but not working- never checked out why
The paint clear coat is flaking off, the body is in very good condition with only two dents and NO RUST.
This F62 is the perfect truck for what every restoration you want to do, from original or extreme conversion build. You don't want to put $10,000+ conversion in to a rust bucket. I really hate selling it, but I need the money for my other project.
