I'm selling my HJ61. It has served me and my family well over the 10 years we have owned it. I imported it direct from Japan and have regularly maintained it. It turns 25 yrs old as of May 2013, chassis # hj61-0008331. Has rebuilt rad and alternator (2012). It does need some work but I have no doubt I could drive it on a 1000km drive tomorrow if needed.

Please do not ask me for compression numbers etc. as I really wouldn't have any ability to do so. It starts well and runs well but seems to throw more of a blue cloud on cold am starts than I remember and yes the glow screen does work. Maybe injectors needed? I don't know. There is a small amt of oil in the bottom of the air filter canister - what does this mean? It does not burn a large amount of oil in between change intervals but does use some, I'd say a litre per 5000 km. I will put some batteries back in (took them out for winter) and see about the dancing filler cap for blow-by on a nice weekend and report back.
We do not use it at all anymore and the LHD conversion/resto is not gonna happen anytime soon. So maybe there is someone out there who wants a solid base to start from and invest some $$ and time or maybe just a good bunch of 60 series parts for a donor. The interior is complete as it should be. Small crack in dash, some tears in brittle top door-card vinyl I think from Japan sun. The truck does have the cable lockers and they are amazing when needed. I'll admit it does not look too nice in the first pic in ad but nothing to hide here - you see it at it's worst (present). The nicer pic was taken last spring to give you an idea what it looks like washed and decent set of rubber. I can provide more pics if you provide email address.
I also have 2 registered Can-spec HJ60's also (both auto) that are complete minus all the lost steel from rust. You can negotiate on them separately if interested. They run, have high kms, and are not road worthy. I was going to use 1 for a LHD swap.
Located in Smithers BC Canada - fairly close to Alaska Cruiserheads.

Thanks,
John
